Austral Patagonia is a program at Universidad Austral de Chile aimed at improving the conservation status of the marine and land portion of the Chilean Patagonia. The program, funded by The Pew Charitable Trusts, has been in place since 2018 and develops its efforts through a broad network of researchers and professionals linked to several disciplines, in partnership with social organizations and local communities linked with conservation, science, and territory.
The alliance between the Universidad Austral de Chile and The Pew Charitable Trusts has allowed the formation of a transdisciplinary team to face conservation challenges in Patagonia.
